DEBBIE DENICE LONG FARNSWORTH

Debbie is Child #3, the eldest Daughter of Donald and Elberta, her dad has nicknamed her Debber Diddles and that is special to him. It has now been shortened in writing to DEB, but mostly I call her Debbie – We Loved that Name and it even sounds better as Debbie Denice. We have never tired of it and nor wanted others to use other than her name.

She was a beautiful baby from the first moment I saw her. She was just what we wanted and had been praying for. I was so thrilled with my wife and despite the cost – I went out and bought the famous SEE’s chocolates which I had them make it weigh exactly 7 lbs 11 oz (her birth weight.) Most of the candy was given out to family and well wishers. I did not know what to do with myself as I was so happy She was then the second most important female in our growing family.

It was hard to decide who was prettier – her or her mom – But I have to say that Debbie had no hair and Elberta had long beautiful dark blond hair. I use to love to just have my hands flow through her hair – Debbie would have years to grow hers but weather because of me and my opinion on long hair – or truly her own decision, she now has that same type hair as her mothers and she has always kept it long – something extremely appreciated and loved by her dad.
She was so beautiful and special that she soon won over anyone’s heart - Her younger Brother Jeffrey so often wanted to take a look at her and almost pulled the bassinette over a number of times as he could not see in, and he wanted to check on her. She began to be given so many beautiful articles of clothing and Such that I had to build a special Dresser for her to just display the Clothing. There was no way – unless Elberta changed 6 to 10 times a day that she could wear everything.

She just got married in June and I is my hope to get a spot set up for many of her wedding Pictures. Beyond that and maybe including that – She needs her own Blog site – thus you can click on it and go there for much more Information

AS I start this information on the Blog for Debbie, I know there are many things written on her and about her – and they remain a part of a more detailed history For her I thought I would put out the First thing her mother wrote about her – and then I will ad at the bottom some questionnaires she has answered between 1994 and 2008.

From her mother
My Dearest Debbie,

This is to let you know that I love you very much and that you are very special to me, and to the family. As with your birth you made it so we were a family of both boys and girls, and that was an answer to my and daddy's prayers.

It was at the time that I was pregnant with you, and after I had been a member of the Church 4 years that I received my Patriarchal Blessing and in that blessing, if you read it with care it told me that I was going to have a girl this time, for it says that my testimony would be strong then with the birth of the child that I was carrying, and it was so true.

As you know you were born a week after you were expected to be and you were born in Harbor General Hospital , but the day that you born it was a funny day. You woke me that day before daylight with a labor pain but I did manage to go back to sleep and daddy had to go back to work that day for a job that had to be done on that day, although it was Saturday. So he left me in bed that day because of the bad night that I had. And you woke me again at 7:30 or 8:00. So I got up because by now I knew that I was going into labor with you , but with the boy I had very long labors . So I was not too worried about you yet. With Patrick it was 14 hours and with Jeffrey it was 16 hours. So little did I know that it would be over in 8 hours from the first to the last of it.

By 11 o'clock I had had more pain but it was not too bad yet and it was not very much the kind that I would have gone to the hospital for, but I did call dad to let him know that he would have to come home. So he came home as soon as he could and as I waited for him great grandma Long (Ora) helped me time the pains that I did have.

We were living with great grandma Long at the time, in the duplex on Compton. Grandmother Long (Merilyn) was over at Aunt Donna's & Uncle Everett’s, so I took the boys over there so Donna and Grandma could take them for me. I sat in Aunt Donna's rocking chair and grandma and Donna timed my pains for me until daddy came and we left for the hospital.

Now you must remember that you were over due, so that when dad and I left for the hospital we thought that we had lots of time. When I got to the hospital they took me in right away. As they do with all mothers to be, they put me on a cart and made me lie down. They were going to keep me down in emergency for a time before taking me upstairs to make sure I was not in full labor. They asked me when I was due and I said a week ago, so they took me right away with a young girl who was a "candy Stripper" and on the ride up to the third floor my bag of water broke and I was lying there and I went "Ho"! and that made the girl so scared that when the elevator doors opened to the third floor, the girl gave me a push and let out a scream for help, and I was rolling down the hall, all by myself with two big doors in front of me and no way to stop, but just before I hit one of the doors one of the nurses stopped me by coming out of the door just in time. She took me into the labor room and the Doctor took one look at me and said why didn't I come to the hospital before now. I told him that I felt that I had a lot of time because I was use to having a long labor but it was not to become this time as 10 min after we got to the hospital, you were born so that was the end of my long labor.

As daddy was in the Fathers Waiting Room for just a short time that one of the other men in the room got mad and said that Dad could not have his baby already, it is not his turn as he had not been there long as he had.

So you were born on Saturday, Dec 2, 1967 at 1:46 PM. You were 20 inches long and weighed 7 lbs 11 oz.

This is the beginning of your life, and I hope that you will continue with it so it can be up to when you are able to see that there is more to your life then you may think and that our future family will enjoy it so much.

So I give this to you, with all my love, and I hope that you will have a very happy time and will take it from here and keep it going.

Debbie is A Beautiful young lady and her dad loves her so very, very Much!

41704 -
Debbie has made it in her schooling and now the big problem of where she should live and work. It will be where the Lord wants her to go. But making that decision will be difficult at best.
Debbie with her family in 1974 - Brother Patrick Oldest, Jeffrey, Mom and Dad

This Picture was taken as a fun thing to do at Lagoon one year. Debie is not mad - we were told not to smile as they were in this period of time. Other than her parents and siblings there is her Grampa and Grama Patrick that loved her so.

NOTE: AS soon as I can figure out how to go it – there will be plenty of pictures of her from birth till her marriage – then there will be a special area for them as in all – she has over 1000 images from that day and so much of them are of family. So much has happened since Marriage and that was in June 2008. She needs her own Blog and I am going to attempt to get that going for her also and let her keep all of us up to date.

RAEANNE ELIZABETH LONG

Part 2 - The Pictures

Pre #1 This is as far back as I am going to take you right now – RaeAnn is the one in the middle at a Family Reunion in 1994, I think she was barely three, she has beautiful hair – Blond as could be. You can hardly see her Killer smile. Now older Brother Roy is on the right side -and the guy that looks like him above is his dad Jeff – my second eldest child. But you can plainly see the good looks Rae Ann has come from her Mother! And that is a definite Killer smile right from the heart of Texas – you can hardly tell but Beth also had beautiful Long hair and good looking legs – but then if you check out baby Ashlee – she is really showing off the beautiful legs from her mom. Look at Moms beautiful long fingers.

I wanted to have this picture especially here as this shows Ashlee at about the same age As when RaeAnn (and Family) came to live with her Grandparent LONGS Jeffrey had to go to school and Beth had to work

Gramma also had to work and so that Only left Roy , RaeAnn and Grampa home.
Roy had to take care of us three and he was not as big as RaeAnn here. I use to bath Roy and RaeAnn at the same time in our double Kitchen Sink (someday I will add that picture) RaeAnn did not think she needed a daily bath and she let Roy and I know it on a daily basis. Roy loved to wash her back and then pour the water to wash her off. He Loved his baby sister – but she was having none of it! I would carefully dry her of and powder her while she still Protested and even when I dressed her and wrapped her in her blanket she still was not happy and it was not till I mixed up the formula and warmed it a bit and gave it to her that she became more tolerant and appreciative. She then would take one of her naps as she felt she had put in a full days work putting up with us men. (I would say that she missed her mother about as much as her mother missed her.)

Now Roy loved the baths and if he cried at all it was when I made him get out. I think if I could have fit in the other sink I would climb in with Roy and we would have had a great time.

From RaeAnn being the size of Ashlee here until the time of this picture Grampa was depended on to take care of the children till Mom got home. It was tuff on Mama as she would start doing her first in things while Ma and Papa were gone- so sad for Mama. Thus when Ashlee was born Mom said to Jeff I want to move as far away as possible from your Father and family as possible – The best Jeff could do was move 250 miles away to a little town of 3 – 4000 people, (it just so happened to be where his job sent him) and we could not chase after them for almost ten years.

It was like ripping the HEART out of Grampa and feeding my heart to the wolves as they left.

The first one is off her with beautiful long straight hair, Especially meaningful to her Grampa. Check out her fingers, but how could you possibly miss the Killer smile!

This was when Grampa gave her a new name which remains to this day - GORGEIOS!

The second one is of her with Beautiful Curls and look at the Killer smile taken in 2007 with some guy next to her and if I was there I would not have let her out the door. Which is why she is smiling so much

The third is of her Twirling for her Grampa ( a special Meaning to lengthy to explain right now) at aunt Debbie’s Wedding. 6/2008

Check out the hair, and not to embarrass her (Yeh – Right Grampa – you would never do that now would you? ! ) her pretty legs and there is the Killer Smile again.

The fourth is of her relaxing and holding a baby and she so looks like her Gramma Fulgham and her mother. 7/12/08 I am afraid the time is short – 5-8 years and this could be her holding her very own baby She had no idea I was going to take this picture – but still look at the Killer smile Look at her Beautiful hair and the finger and how she is holding and loving this child who has never seen RaeAnn before (The Girl is Hannah - she is a daughter of Scott and Kijerstein Brown - others told RaeAnn that she would not go to her as she did not know her?)

This was taken at the LONG Reunion. RaeAnn was staying close to me like a hawk and doing any little thing I needed so I could stay seated and last longer – before having to be put to bed .

The Fifth one here is her with 3 of my 10 Granddaughters her closest cousins (in the Long Family) – You have Katherine (Katie) next to RaeAnn and she is 6 Then there is Ashlee 14, and then there is Laura (Emily) 12 6/20/08 (they all have Killer smiles)

Now Truthfully - can you even think of any of these four giving their Grampa a bad time.

The 6th and 7th is The Family of Donald and Elberta R Long 6/20/08 This was taken at Debbie and John’s wedding and for some stupid unknown reason the two girls were left out. So the second picture with them and their parents – Count the Killer smiles (Used the big Family picture for the starter family shot to this Blog)

That leaves 6 missing and one of which is close to being born – Pictures of them later If I get this working right I will add the Aussies in a few days – We are waiting on one birth there.

8th June 7, 2007 This is a picture of RaeAnn with each of her Brothers and sisters which include Sister Ashlee Christine 14, Brothers Roy Dean 18, Aaron Craig 12, and last but not least - Timothy Daniel 7 - Hey they all have Killer Smiles

9 The final picture here is Mom Beth, and Dad Jeffrey, and if you want to see more pictures and information about this family then go to their Blog site listed above.

This is the family for which this blog is being set up for. Raeann is the most special and most important person in the whole group, and She is the one her Grampa loves the most! of all the 17 year old granddaughters – it is likely the rest of this family feels the same way about this 17 year old member of the family and it will stay that way till her birthday.

That you are reading this right now is mostly to do with her - and a little to do with Laura - She is Next)

LAURA EMMALEIGH SMITH

MY HERO

By

Laura Emmaleigh SMITH (January 2008)

My hero is my Grandpa Long. He is my mom’s dad. He is my mom’s dad. He is 64 years old. Sadly, he also has been expected to die since before my mom was born. He has several medical conditions including, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and phlebitis. Because of this he takes a lot of medication and shots. I help him organize the pills and he calls me his nurse.

My Grandpa is a retired EMT., and even though he lives in Kanab, Utah he is very close to his family. The three most important things to him are God, his family, and church. If there is one place in the world he could be, it would be the temple. He believes very strongly in his religion. When my parents could not make it to my baptism interview he went with me. He loves to do genealogy.

My Grandpa loves to hear laughing children and music. He loves to see smiling faces. He believes that you can do anything if you keep trying. He plays a big part in my life. His favorite animal is a pig.

All but one of his four children are married, and she is engaged. He has 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He has a nickname for all of them, like candy man, cowboy, JTXYZ&Q, and many others. He has traditions with each family. With mine it was trying a new flavor of Ice Cream each weekend when he came to visit.

He is the person that taught me how to cook. At Christmas time when he wraps presents he likes to hide things like money in the tree. He and my aunt have this game where they trick each other with their presents.

I love him so much. But most of all he is my hero.

RAEANN ELIZABETH LONG

In the Beginning

Thursday, September 25, 2008

The above named granddaughter has faith in me that I can start a Blog and handle it. I do not share her view – but my grandchildren know I will do all in my power for them. So this is the start and as you can see the beginning will be about her.

RaeAnn ( or Gorgeious as Grampa gave the special name he called her from the time she was about 10) is my second eldest granddaughter she is a GORGEIOUS 17 years old that is in her Senior year of school at Booneville High School in Idaho Falls Idaho, Where she is a member on the pep band and plays the French horn in the Concert band, (I have her actual schedule but do not recall her classes now but I know that at least two of them are AP classes )She is not as smart as she would like to be and thus has to spend a great amount of time doing homework each night and she no longer has her Older Brother Roy to help her as he is in college some 4 hours from there. She works very hard for the good grades she gets.

Besides all the activities of school which are mandatory and a way for her to reach her goal of going to college, she is in the 3rd or 4th year of LDS Church Seminary there.

She has her own car and needs a license Plate holder like her Aunt Betsey had at her age – The frame said – I don’t drive fast! I fly Low!! However she is a good driver and I enjoy riding with her. She has one problem with the Van she drives – It seems the fuel keeps evaporating and each time she fills it the cost is almost a hundred dollars. She has to pay the costs to operate it. One way she does this is as a part time secretary at the BLM. Most of the money she has made pays all her expenses of school, the car, helping the family budget since her dad can no longer work. She hates to see the money go so fast – but does not regret where it goes.

In addition to this she is very active in church attending all the meetings and activities.

She has been completely redecorating her room. As she wants it – perhaps later their will be pictures. On her blog. That brings up another thing she does which is to keep her family blog.

She also is great with a camera and loves to manipulate photos.

She has Daily , specific chores that must be done – she last called me as she washed the dishes.

She is the eldest at home and she had to pick up where Roy left off, with one less person to spread the chores out too. She also tries to help her mother further as her mother has to work each day. Send finally but not least important –she helps her dad out.

Because Mom has to work each day at 5 and since her dad is usually too ill to get up, RaeAnn has to see that everyone is up for morning songs and scriptures – she just said that her sister Ashlee has been helping so much with getting the kids up on time. 6 Am comes early each morning.

Like any normal 17 year old girl she would not mind having a 17 year old boyfriend that just happened to be madly in love with her – although where she would find time for him is beyond me – I hearing her saying as she reads this – Don’t Worry - I’ll make time! There is much more I could say but this was just to get this started.

I plan to include a few special pictures here that I love of her. I will add more later as I figure how to do it.
